Boasting what are probably the world’s most compact dimensions in its stowed position, the new RUTHMANN BLUELFT SA31 is making its UK-debut at Vertikal Days 2018.
Showcased by Snorkel UK, the exclusive RUTHMANN BLUELIFT distributor for the U.K. and Ireland, the SA31 will be introduced to the U.K. and Ireland access market at the show, following its recent launch at Intermat Paris.
Designed specifically for inaccessible working areas, and based on customer requirements, the SA31 is a high specification tracked spider lift that delivers up to 31m working height, and up to a 17.3m outreach (120kg platform capacity) yet has a stowed width of just 1.0m. In addition, a stowed height of less than 2.0m, means that the SA31 will easily pass through a single industrial door – a first for the tracked spider lift industry, and a short overall length ensures that the SA31 can be easily manoeuvred in tight spaces and winding corridors.
For ease of accessing the work area, whether working indoors or outdoors, the SA31 features a moveable jib boom as well as platform rotation. The SA31 can be stabilized in either the standard configuration, or in the narrow position which requires a footprint of just 3.0m x 5.99m. The operator will be guided by the intelligent RUTHMANN control technology which will provide the optimal safe set up of the lift.
The SA31 also benefits from a low overall weight of just 4,700kg. This delivers a very low ground pressure when in drive mode using the rubber tracks, and also lower pressure when using the stabilizers legs. This can be reduced further with the use of newly developed stabilizer plates, specifically designed for the BLUELIFT SA31.
Of the launch, Andrew Fishburn, Snorkel UK Managing Director, said, “We are truly excited by this new launch from RUTHMANN BLUELIFT. We are already having success with the BLUELIFT line with our customers, but the SA31 really moves us into new territory that meets the needs of many of the customers that we have been working with. It’s a really well-designed, well-thought-out product, and with the optional addition of BLUELIFT’s excellent hybrid solution, the SA31 is a model that is really hard to beat.”
At Vertikal Days, Snorkel UK announced that the first BLUELIFT SA31 in the U.K. has been ordered by Essex-based MBS Access, a specialist tracked spider access hire company.
Ben Dobson, Director at MBS Access, said, “As one of the U.K.’s leading tracked spider lift providers, we are thrilled to be the first company in the country to order the new BLUELIFT SA31. We already run many BLUELIFT spiders in our fleet and are excited by the industry-leading specifications of the new model, along with developments in the excellent RUTHMANN control system. We’re confident this will be a popular model in our fleet and look forward to receiving it.”
Andrew Fishburn added, “We are incredibly grateful to Ben and the team at MBS for their order for the first machine into the U.K. MBS Access truly know the tracked spider lift market, and I am extremely confident that the SA31 will be an excellent addition to their fleet.”
